I reviewed this park a few years ago but it is worth a re-review. They built a new shower house which is a vast improvement. The trees have grown up so there is some shade available. The swimming beach has been removed so no swimming is available. Still it is a county park carved out of an old army base. It is a decent place to camp if you are going to one of the many events at the park. Several seasonal campers plus some people temporarily living in tents.

Very nice park but a large RV will have issues getting into many of the sites. Digging diamonds is too much work but everyone should try once. There is not a whole lot else to do in the park other than the diamond mine. Generally quiet and a good place to camp. The shower house was clean and heated.

Older KOA but well maintained from what I can tell. The main complaint is that it is right on the highway. Being a rough section of pavement, there was a lot of highway noise. There was also a fair bit of train noise. Other than that, the campground itself was fine.

While the park is a little hard to get to from the interstate and takes you through a rough looking part of town, the park itself is very pretty. The campground is well maintained and the bathhouse is clean and heated. Wind direction can make the park a little stinky. It is a small campground and does not take reservations so call to make sure they have spaces. The Indian museum near by is worth seeing.

This is pretty much just a place to park your RV. Nothing to do in campground. It is clean and the folks are friendly. It is close to Columbus.

For an older county park, this was very nice. Good hiking trails and a lake for swimming and fishing. There were a lot of tent campers, popups and smaller RVs. A large RV will have trouble getting through the campground.

This is the nicest county park that I have seen. Very nice bath house. Some of the sites are on circle drives which are a little funky.

This is a very nice clean campground. The new owners are working hard to make it a better place. They are also very friendly and want to help make your stay more enjoyable. The small fish pond had just been stocked. Some of the sites are not real level so this can present a challenge.

This is primarily a "live-in" park for the 55 and over crowd. We stayed one night because we were visiting somebody in the area. The park was very clean and the camp store was well equipped. There was a nice pool and other facilities. Most of the sites are occupied by older trailers that are permanently with added roofs and sun rooms. There are a few sites for overnighters. It looks like a real nice place to spend the winter.

Very Pretty park with a nice like. The train track was a big down side to it. It is also a little hard to get to at night from the interstate. I would recommend it, but wear earplugs, the trains come by about once an hour or more.

We enjoyed this park a lot. The sites are very large and well maintained. We stayed in loop A. The only downside to this area is that the road in is very narrow. There are some good hiking trails available and a very nice lake.

Very nice park. The sites are well spaced. They have a new shower house in a new section of the campground and they are putting in a new dump station. There is a fishing pier accessible from the campground that has pretty good fishing. The campground was clean and the facilities were well maintained.

This was a rather run down campground. The swimming pool had an interesting green color to it. This had been a church camp at one point and converted to an RV park. The sites are not defined but just hookup areas in a field. The electric boxes are for two sites and a little under powered if both sites are filled.

The rave reviews that I had been given about this park were a little over rated. There was a fair bit of trash lying around. The restrooms were a little grungy. The park did not enforce their "no fireworks" rule. They offer rental golf carts and there were way too many of them. It is clear that this used to be a very nice park and could be again if they would do a little more maintenance. To be fair, it is still a nice park. The pool is new. The playground areas are nice. They really need to do some sprucing up before the place really runs down.

This is a pretty typical county park campground. Water and electric sites plus a tent area. The shower house is grungy. The sites are gravel pads with a grassy area between them. The park has a lot of events and things to do so it is not a bad place to spend a weekend. The campground does have power problems when crowded and the weather is hot.
